Shalom Center Provides Seminary Training

Shalom Center provided a day-long program of instruction at Assumption Seminary in San Antonio in February at the request of Father Jeffrey Pehl, Rector.

The training was provided by Father Tom Thomas, Clinical Coordinator of Shalom Center and by Daniel Kidd, Executive Director.

Father Thomas presented programs to all of the college and the theology students on the Grief Process, focusing on both seminarians’ personal grief and also on facilitating the grieving process among members of parishes. Daniel Kidd presented programs to both levels on Healthy Boundaries for Catholic Clergy and the importance of maintaining appropriate boundaries in ministerial duties.

Shalom Center provided these programs in order to fulfill its function as not only a provider of treatment services to Catholic clergy and religious but also a provider of services which will assist in the prevention of problems for our future priests and religious.
