WHAT’S NEW
at SHALOM CENTER
NEW BUILDING IS COMPLETE.
In October 2025, Shalom Center opened a new building designed to enhance daily life for residents and accommodate the growing number
of clergy and religious who come to Shalom for healing and renewal.
The new building includes a state-
of-the-art commercial kitchen, an expanded dining room, a comfor-table living room for residents, a private dining area, and an outdoor patio. The additional space allows residents and staff to share meals together while also giving residents
a welcoming place to relax, visit, and spend time together apart from the treatment setting.
The former kitchen and dining areas have provided additional space for offices, counseling and medical services, records, and storage as Shalom Center continues to respond to increasing needs.
The new building represents another chapter in Shalom Center’s contin-uing growth. While our campus and facilities have expanded over the years, our purpose remains the same: to provide clergy and religious with a peaceful, compassionate, and professionally supportive environ-ment in which they can find healing, renewal, and Shalom.
We remain deeply grateful to the benefactors whose generosity helped make this new building possible. Residents continue to remember our benefactors in prayer.

Residents and staff at Shalom Center now enjoy a spacious new dining area designed to bring everyone together in a more comfortable setting. The adjoining state-of-the-art commercial kitchen includes updated equipment, a walk-in cooler, and a walk-in freezer, allowing meals to be prepared and served more efficiently.
The expanded dining space has become an important part of daily life at Shalom Center, providing a welcoming place to share meals, enjoy conversation, and experience a greater sense of community.
“Out of the believer’s heart shall
flow rivers of living water.”

Serra Clubs continue to be of great assistance to Shalom Center. The new Serra Club of Northeast Houston hosted a presentation on Shalom Center and visited us in January, and a presentation was made to the Serra Club of Galveston in January to update the group on Shalom Center’s progress. Both groups have provided prayerful and financial help to our programs.
Our ability to treat priests and religious whose first language is Spanish has been enhanced with individual and group therapy sessions in Spanish, as well as an English class being added to the schedule. We have three bilingual English/Spanish therapists as well as a bilingual psychiatrist to assist those overcome language barriers to treatment.
