Shalom Center was founded to offer a holistic approach to mental health, spirituality, and life for clergy, men and women religious, and persons in ministry. We are motivated to recommit ministers in service to Christ and the Church.
We genuinely seek to create a spirit of Gospel compassion, a nonjudgmental atmosphere and a safe environment where healing and growth can happen. Shalom Center responds to the needs of the minister in the following ways:
-
Providing assistance to those experiencing personal difficulties impeding their potential as Christian ministers
-
Providing an atmosphere for personal and spiritual growth and renewal
-
Offering assessments and evaluations, individual and group counseling, spiritual direction and education on such salient aspects of human living as personality and sexual development, prayer, nutrition, community living, stress management and intimacy
MISSION
STATEMENT
“The webbing together of God, humans, and creation in justice, fulfillment, and delight is what the Hebrew prophets call SHALOM. We call it peace, but it means far more than mere peace of mind or a ceasefire between enemies. In the Bible, shalom means universal flourishing, wholeness, and delight — a rich state of affairs in which natural needs are satisfied and natural gifts fruitfully employed, a state of affairs that inspires joyful wonder as its Creator and Savior opens doors and welcomes the creatures in whom He delights.”
