Our 30th Anniversary Gala on October 2, 2010, was a huge success thanks to the generosity of donors and supporters.  We had 250 guests in attendance that night.  We are most appreciative to His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo who was our honoree and recipient of the Sister Amelia Shannon Award.  Our silent and live auction items and our raffle substantially helped generate money for our Scholarship Fund for priests and religious.   This fund covers all or part of the cost of treatment of a priest or religious in need of our services when their community or diocese is financially unable to pay for these services.  As a non-profit organization, we rely on the benefactors of Shalom Center to continue our ministry.  We again, thank you for your continued support of our mission and to the success of a wonderful 30^th Anniversary Gala evening!!

Announcement:

There is great news for Shalom Center as we move forward into the future with hope and new life.

• This past year, the Board of Directors and Search Committee has engaged in a nation-wide search for the successor of Father Andre Estephan, MLM who has been called back to his community in Lebanon by his Superior General.  Father Andre has served as the Executive Director for the past three years and has successfully worked to develop Shalom Center’s programs.
  
  The Board of Directors proudly announced that effective January 17, 2011 the new Executive Director of Shalom Center will be Mr. Daniel Kidd.
  
  Mr. Kidd served as President and CEO of Guest House in Lake Orion, Michigan from October 1997 to January 2011.  Dan made significant contributions to the growth and development of Guest House.  For the last thirty years Dan has successfully held top leadership positions in treatment centers in several States.  With his experience and expertise in the development and passion for the healing and renewal of our clergy and religious, we believe Shalom Center will continue its mission and move into new and creative ways to support the efforts of the entire Church in forming healthier and holier clergy and religious.
  
  
• We are pleased to announce Deacon William (Bill) Hartman to our clinical Staff.  Bill has accepted the new position of Residential Program Coordinator effective March 14, 2011.  He brings a wealth of experience and background to our clinical staff with past experience in directing a residential treatment program and extensive credentials in professional counseling and addictions treatment.  Should you have questions or need further information regarding our Assessment Program, Residential Program, or Sabbatical Program, you can contact Bill at 281-399-0520.
